What we collect
- Name, email address, and delivery address.
- Dietary preferences, restrictions, and household size you tell us.
- Order history, including which meals you've selected each week.
- Basic technical information your browser sends (browser type, screen size, language) for site reliability.
- One confirmation email, then one more when Cotto opens. Nothing else, and we do not share or sell your address. Ask us to remove you any time at contact@cotto.nyc.
- A phone number when you order without an account, so we can reach you about your delivery.
How we use it
- Fulfilling your weekly orders and delivering them to the right address.
- Personalizing your menu and surfacing recipes that fit your preferences.
- Communicating with you about your orders: cutoff reminders, delivery notices and receipts.
- Improving the site and the meal selection over time.
What we don't do
We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not run advertising trackers on this site. Any future analytics will be limited to first-party, privacy-respecting tooling and called out here.
Where the data lives
Your account, preferences and orders are stored in an encrypted database hosted in the United States. Your account and orders live on our servers. Your browser keeps a few things between visits so you do not have to re-enter them: the box you are building, your questionnaire answers and planner choices, and account preferences such as skipped weeks. Clearing your browser storage removes them.
Who handles it for us
- Stripe processes your payment. Your card details go to Stripe and never reach Cotto.
- Clerk handles your sign-in and keeps your session.
- Neon hosts our database, in the United States.
- Vercel hosts the site.
- Resend delivers our email to you and receives the mail you send us.
- Sentry receives a technical report when something on the site breaks. It never receives what you typed.
Your choices
You can edit your profile and dietary preferences from your account page. To request a copy of your data or have it deleted, email contact@cotto.nyc and we'll respond within seven days.
